BERKELEY ART MUSEUM AND PACIFIC FILM ARCHIVE

The Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive is the visual arts center for the University of California Berkeley. One of the largest university art museums in the United States, its collections totals over 16,000 objects and 14,000 films and videos. The museum, founded in 1963, is housed in a distinctive Modernist building. The UC Berkeley art museum offers some interesting exhibits and decent pieces of art.

BERKELEY MARINA

The Berkeley Marina, which is one of the largest urban green spaces in the San Francisco Bay Area, provides panoramic views of the region's three main bridges (Golden Gate, Bay, and Richmond), Alcatraz, Angel Island, and the San Francisco skyline. Many sports fishing boats provide opportunities for single or multi-day trips.

BERKELEY ROSE GARDEN

For flower fanatics, this is a definite must-see. The 3.5 acre terraced park features some 3000 rose bushes comprised of about 250 different species - truly a sight (and scent) to behold. Completed in 1937 by the Works Project Administration, the garden still features the original semi-circular amphitheater, plus four tennis courts, hiking trails, foot bridges, and if you time your visit right, a stunning view of the sunset behind the Golden Gate Bridge.

JACK LONDON SQUARE

Jack London Square is a popular entertainment and business destination on the waterfront of Oakland, California. It is the home of stores, restaurants, hotels, an Amtrak station, a ferry dock, the (re-located) cabin Jack London lived in the Klondike, and a movie theater. Jack London State Historic Park is a memorial to writer and adventurer Jack London, who made his home at the site from 1905 until his death in 1916. The park was once part of the famous writer's Beauty Ranch.

PARAMOUNT THEATRE OAKLAND

The Paramount Theatre is a massive Art Deco movie theater located in downtown Oakland, California, USA. When it was built in 1931, it was the largest multi-purpose theater on the West Coast, seating 3476 Today, the Paramount is the home of the Oakland East Bay Symphony and the Oakland Ballet, it regularly plays host to R&B, jazz, blues, pop, rock, gospel, classical music, as well as ballets, plays.
